One Guide

I have just completed my last design breif in which I was given the task to complete a new range of city guides for Great Britain. My idea was to create a guide that was visually exciting and really easy for the user to navigate through.
Within my research I found that people use the guides in two ways the first by flicking through the book before they set of in there travels listing down the areas of interest and the second is buying the book and only using it whilst walking through the chosen city. The way I saw this was people fumbling through a text heavy book trying to get info. So I set off trying to create a book with asthetically pleasing images that attracted the viewer to the site rather than the text/copy.
My answer to the breif was INS AND OUT.
The OUTS

I wanted the front cover bold and easily identified more than the other existing guide books. The two colours will change every time, rotating so there will never be the same colour on the different guides, which also makes it easier for consumers to describe the book to staff within stores. The barcode references to the book itself. no images, no descriptions, no reviews INS AND OUTS of Oxford it does what it says on the tin (book) you just need to by it!

The INS

Hey this is a good idea putting your work up here, i wish i cudv thot of dat lol. You already kno wot i think about your guidebook. I think its good that u have taken away attention from your front cover by keeping it simple by just having the name of the destination and barcode, to put more emphasis on the images of the destinations that are inside. And inside there are some good dynamic imagery, good arrangement column grids and a good system to make it easier to go through it aswell. I know i'm going on a bit here but its good work, keep it up lol. hope i have been helpful. T
