New Notion Update
Ok so its been three months since my last post, time to update and show you what's been done. I think in this case a few pictures will paint a few thousand words.
We are also in the process of updating New Notion's webpage which should be up and running some point next year. We are also getting ready for a showing of our work in an exhibition taking place next month, the work was for a brief for urban fairies which I shall post about in due course.
In the corporate world we are in the stages of re-designing a logo for the Gas Centre at croydon college which personally was needed as the logo itself was very outdated and needed to be modernised.

Getting a New Notion
I have recently been working with a friend under our freelance name of New Notion, trying to raise our profile and get some new work. which seems to have worked. In continuing our work with Croydon College Marketing department we were approached by the fashion department of the same university.
New Notion was commissioned to design the End of Year Look Book, which shows off the talent the graduating students to prospective employers.
We both felt something subtle and unique was in order here using the strength of the images of the students fashion range.
Below is what was eventually created. Finding through research black and grey were quite fashionable colours at present, we wanted to use them in our layout which would give it that extra little bit of character.
We were approached by a friend to experiment with a range of images she had by David Lazarus for a Levis brand concept South Africa 09. The original concept was taking movie quotes out of context and giving them a life of their own- ie giving the models room to interpret them as they wished. She wanted us to experiment with the images and movie quotes that came with them somehow blending the two together, This is what we created.
After the success of those images we were also asked to see what we could conjure up with a few other images for a band and try something experimental. She wanted it based on The Beatles time in India being very colourful and trancy.
We were both happy with the outcomes.

Prospectus
Been busy over the past week completing a International Prospectus for Croydon College.
The brief was to create a visually exciting yet simple layout which was to be taken out to China over the following months in order to promote the College to overseas students'.
My Original idea was to create a layout similar to a comic book style using a Modular grid which I thought would appeal to the audience. However this was seen as too vibrant and a little too experimental for the Clients. I then went about making the Layout a little more corporate and sophisticated yet still incorporating the modular grid theme.
The full version of this can be found on Croydon College's website
